Early Child Care Development (ECCD) Program
With the support of HCL Foundation, Bro Siga Social Service Guild (BSSSG) runs two Early Childhood Care Development (ECCD) centers in Chennai ( Gandhingar and Sholinganallur) and Madurai ( Nethaji Nagar and Vanidyur) from February 2018.
The ECCD centers aim to help the development of children with 5 set of skills- cognitive, motor, language, social and creative with completely play way methods. All these ECCD centers are handled by trained staff and supported by care givers.
Apart from the education, under ECCD we also undertake periodical medical check ups for children, orientation for parents & community care givers, conduct special programs to mark various special days round the year and environment conservation etc.,

Graduation Day-2023

Chennai ECCD Centers:
- Improved capacity building to 12 ECCD staff and 10 area women
- 94 children enrolled and benefitted.
- 38 children(20 boys,18 girls) promoted to primary education
- 216 attended parents meeting and got information HCL support and made aware on the importance of child development.
- 64 stakeholders actively involved the ECCD program.
- 93 children regularly monitored their health through medical check up
- 110 children enrolled and benefitted
- 29 (12 boys 17 girls) completed five years of age have improved age appropriate skills in 8 areas of child development and romoted to Primary education and followed up
- 10 days training and 4 days incremental training was arranged – 9 staff and 7 women trained by Mobile crèches from Delhi and updated their knowledge.
- Once in three months the parents meeting held and 91 parents and 36 stakeholders actively participated in Parents meeting and involved in ECCD program.
- With the awareness meeting on World Breast feeding - 28 lactating mothers benefitted.
- Three medical checkup was arranged – 87 ECCD children and 49 area children treated with the help of SUHAM Trust.
ECCD Children Graduation Day:
Graduation Day was celebrated in order to encourage children and make community people to understand the efforts take by us in development of the child.
On 14th July 2023, Graduation Day was celebrated in Gandhi Nagar from 11.30 AM to 12.30 PM.

Mr. Bharath D.M.-HCLF highlighted the significance of the graduation program and he shared the vital role of parent and community responsibility in children education and development.
In her Chief Guest address, Ms.Jeyashree-District Project Officer had the interactive session with the parents, initially she enquired about the current food habits of the children. Also she explained about the importance of healthy lifestyle. By investing in the well-being of our children, we are nurturing the future generation.
“Our primary focus is on children aged 0 to 2 years, as this period is crucial for their growth and development. Provision of healthy nutrition is essential in preventing anemia among children”. She advised to avoid junk food and ensure provision of nutritious breakfast to the children. Pointed out, the importance of taking balanced diet, including green leafy vegetables, pulses, and cereals, with a focus on iron-rich foods to support their overall nutrition. To ensure the well-being of the children, she has made a commitment to supply dry rations to all our Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) centers starting from 1st August 2023.
Ms.Hameetha Banu-HM Sholinganallur Govt. School, stressed parental involvement in education. It was highlighted that a significant portion of parent’s lack formal education, which often results in their limited understanding of the importance of education for their children. She insisted that ‘parents should take the responsibility to ensure their children attend school regularly’. Graduation Certificate was distributed to 17 children who are enrolled 1ststd at Govt School. Individual photos and took group photos taken with graduated children.
Mr.Sundar BSSSG-Documentation Officer proposed vote of thanks. He thanked everyone for actively participated in this graduation program.
